EPIC Yoga SC has created introductory level classes for our new and aspiring yogis.
If you have never taken a yoga class before, our introductory classes are both accessible and encouraging. We have created a safe environment in which all levels and abilities can practice.
Our introductory classes provide a slower paced program with more description and commentary accompanying each asana or posture.

gentle flow (aka beginner's class)
Designed with our newest yogis in mind, this class creates a foundation from which you can build on. Held in a safe and relaxing atmosphere you will learn the benefits of yoga, incorporating basic yoga asana (physical postures), proper yogic breathing (pranayama), an intro to yoga philosophy meditation and relaxation techniques. This is an excellent introduction for new students and also great for the intermediate/experienced looking for a way to connect with the FUNdamentals of your practice.*60 minutes
We’re SO excited to meet you! If you’ve never been to EPIC Yoga SC before, you’re in for a treat. Following are a few things you should know leading up to your first visit:
COME EARLY: Arrive 10-15 minutes before class time to sign-in and be welcomed and oriented to EPIC Yoga SC.
If you must leave early, please alert the instructor before class and always do so quietly and before savasana (final relaxation) typically the last 5-7 minutes of class.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: 15 and older. (15 and 16 year olds must attend with a parent who can attest to the maturity and fitness level of the student.) Anyone under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent.
PRE-REGISTERING: For a class guarantees your spot in class, should it fill up. If you are late or do not show up, your spot will be forfeited to those who are on the waiting list.
CAN'T MAKE IT?: If you’ve pre-registered and are unable to make it to class, we require you remove yourself from the roster online or call EPIC Yoga SC before class beings. If you fail to do so, your payment and/or class package will be processed.
WHAT TO WEAR: Wear light and comfortable clothing. You’ll be barefoot in the yoga classes so leave your shoes and all belongings in the cubbies provided in the lobby.
FACILITIES: Changing rooms and bathrooms are available.
SCENTS: Please no perfumes, colognes or heavy scents of any kind in the practice pace.
SACRED SPACE: Please observe quiet in the practice studio before, during and after class. This is a quiet, sacred space and many students use the time prior to, and following class, as an opportunity to stretch and/or meditate.
NO CELL PHONES: Cell phones are not allowed in the practice space, no not even on vibrate or silent.
HYDRATE: Be well hydrated and come to practice on a light stomach.
Take rest or water whenever you need it, always listen to your own body.
Yoga mats are available for rent: $2/mat
Hand towel rentals are $1.00

And as for class itself? Have fun. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Skip as much as you want. Sit on your mat and just breathe and get a feel for what’s going on. As long as you’re breathing, you’re doing yoga. The poses are just bonus.
